The goal of treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), often referred to as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), is to manage symptoms and enhance quality of life; there is no known cure for the condition. Graded exercise therapy (GET), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and pacing (activity management) may be the most effective individualised strategy, but the latter is debatable. Painkillers, sleep aids, and low-dose antidepressants are examples of medications that may assist with some symptoms. Under medical supervision, some people find that Modalert helps them with extreme tiredness.
